What is this The Frame TV?
This television on sale is a 2022 QLED model from Samsung’s famous The Frame range. It has a large diagonal of 139 cm, often difficult to fit in its TV corner. However, if harmonizing your TV with your living room is important to you, Samsung has designed this series as a real eye-catcher. The sleek design of The Frame is adorned with an elegant frame around the screen, to give it the look of a painting. The effect is successful and art lovers or people allergic to traditional screens will be delighted.
Performance is no exception. The Frame features a QLED panel that delivers lifelike picture quality, thanks to 4K Ultra HD. It is HDR10 + compatible, but it will still be necessary to ignore Dolby Vision, a bad habit at Samsung. Upscaling technology optimizes the content viewed and makes it possible to broadcast 1080p with 4K definition. Thanks to the settings menu, you can correct the few small problems with contrasts and blacks on certain content. The audio part is not the highest quality of The Frame, but the sound is however more than correct, for TV speakers. An optical digital audio output lets you plug in a better sound system, if needed.
Is The Frame on sale a good deal?
At less than 900 € it is a very good deal. The Samsung TV is HDMI 2.1 compatible and supports 4K at 120 Hz, with a variable refresh rate. Playing with a new generation console is therefore no problem. Samsung’s Tizen operating system accompanies The Frame. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so you can control it by voice. Classic SVOD applications and services are present and run very well.
Finally, it is impossible not to mention the table function of The Frame. Samsung’s TV can display a work of art when in standby. This 2022 version of the range also has a slab with a new matte coating, ideal for paintings. Unlike the 2021 range which returned a lot of reflections, the rendering here is incredible and the painting illusion works even better. Unfortunately, while some works are available for free on Samsung’s Art Store, others require a paid subscription. For a monthly fee of €4.99, you will have access to thousands of paintings and photographs.
