The Municipality of La Plata carries out the installation of new columns and LED streetlights on the path of avenue 13 from 54 to 64, a work that is part of the mega Lighting Plan and that will improve visibility in the area. “We continue to intervene in each avenue and square in the City with a modern and sustainable lighting service that improves the quality of life of the residents,” said the Secretary of Public Spaces, Joseph Etchart.

As reported by the Commune, The work includes the placement of 60 new four-meter columns with LED streetlights and underground wiring. In addition, the enhancement of the existing boards is carried out along with painting and maintenance tasks.

In this regard, Etchart explained that the new lighting system “will allow energy savings and enhance the area with greater clarity for pedestrians, merchants, drivers and public passenger transport.” In this way, and through the mega Lighting Plan promoted by the Municipality in the different neighbourhoods, More than 80,000 LED luminaires have already been installed.

It is important to note that these devices have a duration of up to 50,000 hours, consume half the energy of traditional ones and help care for the environment since they do not contain mercury and are recyclable.
