If you are impatiently awaiting the arrival of season 3 of The Mandalorian, we have good news: there are only six weeks left. And as a bonus, Disney+ has just unveiled a new trailer full of clues about what this new opus has in store for us. Broadly speaking, the pitch for this new season is rather clear. But there is also a lot of more obscure info…
Warning : the following text contains some spoilers for season 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian. After Grogu’s choice, and his decision to stay with Djin Djarin rather than continue his Jedi training in season 2, the fate of the two close friends is now forever linked. Djin Djarin is himself in a complex position, both technically the holder of the Darksaber after having obtained it from Moff Gideon in battle (so he can potentially claim leadership of the Mandalorians, even if he does not want a priori this role).

But Djin Djarin is also a defector to his family for having dared to break his vow never to show his face. The trailer therefore reveals quite clearly that there will be talk of a return to Mandalore in season 3 – not only the destroyed planet, but the role of Mandalore (leader of the Mandalorians). Which implies that Djin Djarin and Grogu will have to, together, also take the path of redemption to legitimize their place with the Mandalorians.
Incidentally, we feel that Grogu’s questions are not quite over. We distinguish over the trailer at least four Jedi who should certainly help the light side of the Force to win. But also, no doubt, introduce trouble into this being both so powerful and dominated by his immediate emotions and desires… Of course, we will have to wait for the first episodes of season 3 on March 1, 2023 to know more.
This new trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian was unveiled Monday, January 16, 2023 in the evening on the sidelines of an American football Wild Card Game (NFL) meeting between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Before this teaser, you had to go back to the D23 event organized by Disney in September 2022 to have news of the series.
