La Plata is already beating a new edition of the New Year’s Eve burning of momos and as reported by the Municipality, on this occasion 78 structures registered to participate in this ritual from La Plata that will have numerous figures that pay homage to the selected world champion and other characteristic characters from television and cinema.
In this framework, the corners of the different neighborhoods of La Plata already have almost everything ready for the tradition of dolls made from wire, cardboard and paper. All that remains is for the clock to strike the appointed time to begin the burning of momos.
The proposals include a variety of characters, although in the midst of the World Cup furor the World Cup, Lionel Messi and even Dibu Martínez are among the most popular options.
The streets of the city will also show off the renowned and always current Spider-Man, SpongeBob, King Kong, The Simpsons, Monster Ink, Minions, Ratatouille, Sonic, Stitch, The Pink Panther, Angry Birds, Atomic Ant, Puss in Boots, Animatronics and Pokemon, among others. As reported, from this Thursday until Saturday, December 31 at 11:59 p.m., residents will be able to choose the end-of-year doll that wins this edition. Each neighbor will be able to cast his vote through the website geomunecos.laplata.gob.ar. This measure seeks to reward the first positions with an economic incentive and, within this framework, First place will get $150,000, second $100,000, third $50,000 and fourth $30,000.
On the other hand, distinctions and recognitions will also be given to the momos that emerge from the heart of every corner of the city. The tradition of the end of the year momos will have a new feature in 2022, since the Municipality authorized the provisional and one-time installation of non-alcoholic food and beverage stalls by the creators. “From the municipality we have accompanied so that the tradition is maintained.
