Already in episode 3 it became clear that the Pflugers, the family of Hans’ deceased wife, are getting closer to the Grubers. Rolf Pfluger offers Hans and Lisbeth to borrow the machines from his local shop and buy everything they need at wholesale price. Without any ulterior motives, he promises that everything should be agreed in writing. In “Who we are”, the upcoming episode “Der Bergdoktor”, he goes one step further.
While Lisbeth is still concerned that Hans will not find out anything about Martin’s past with Sonja, Martin has a different opinion: “I have the feeling that I can’t handle it anymore. I have to talk to Hans,” he admits to his mother. “Then he’ll realize how long you lied to him. He was the one who forgave you back then. But please, if you want to ruin it all, then please do…”
So Martin approaches Caro and makes her a suggestion: “Your father and Hans should do this cooperation […] and we both make sure that we keep the two families apart as much as possible.” He would have reconciled her being in Lillis and Hans’ lives in exchange for her making peace with what was between him and her sister. Caro agrees at first, but then her father has an idea…
