A track featuring the vocals of Drake and The Weeknd has been a hit in recent hours. Entitled “Heart on My Sleeve”, it notably garnered more than 250,000 plays on Spotify and 10 million views on TikTok. Except that the two artists have nothing to do with this creation which was designed by a certain Ghostwriter 977 with the help of AI.
Artificial Intelligence Generates New Drake and The Weeknd Track
Many fans were dumbfounded to learn the information when they had already adopted the sound in their playlist. Despite the sometimes scrambled voices and the perfectible quality of the fake piece, they had only seen fire, thinking it was a leak. Especially since Drake and The Weeknd had already collaborated together in the past.
“We are truly in a new era. I can’t even tell what’s legit or fake anymore.” says a user on Twitter. “This is the first example of AI-generated music that really impressed me”observes Mckay Wrigley, a developer specializing in AI.
The rapper and the singer have not (yet) commented on this new trick which reminds us how much generators are improving day by day. This causes serious copyright issues.“We have a moral and commercial responsibility to our artists to work to prevent unauthorized use of their music and to prevent platforms from embedding content that violates copyrights,” recognizes a spokesperson for Universal Music Group.
