After the last two episodes of The Outreau Affair, which does not seem to have the favors of the director Andréa Bescond, France 2 continues its investigation with Debate, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10:50 p.m. Presented by Julian Bugier (accused of not giving enough space to pension reform in his news), this debate will return to the case in the company of many guests. Reminder of the facts: it all begins on December 5, 2000, when the children of Myriam Badaoui and Thierry Delay accuse them of having sexually abused them. Chérif, 10 years old, Dimitri, 8 years old, Jonathan, 6 years old, and Dylan, 4 years old, the four boys of Myriam Badaoui and Thierry Delay, are then placed in a foster family. An innovative series

The Outreau Affair, a series in four episodes, looks back on this incredible judicial fiasco which led to the creation of a parliamentary commission of inquiry in January 2006 and continues to haunt our collective memory. Combining in an innovative way in a huge studio of 1,000 m2 reconstructions of the interrogations and testimonies of the main protagonists, it shows, hears and understands how the judicial investigation has created a crazy mechanism that nothing and no one has been able to stop and who crushed the lives of child victims like innocent defendants.

Prominent guests

It is Julian Bugier who, after the fourth and final episode, will come back to the case and its gray areas with seven guests for a debate entitled The broken lives of Outreau: return to a judicial shipwreck. He will dialogue with lawyers: Me Frank Berton, lawyer, defender in the Outreau case of Mrs Odile Marécaux, Mr Franck Lavier and Daniel Legrand; Me Stéphane Cantéro, Advocate General at the Court of Assizes of Rennes; Gilles Antonowicz, lawyer, historian and scientific advisor on the documentary series. With them, there will also be the legal columnist Dominique Verdeilhan; the president of La Voix de l’Enfant Martine Brousse and the chief warrant officer Virginie Redureau who interviews minor victims in the Yvelines Family Protection House. Special guest: Father Dominique Wiel, wrongly accused by the children in the Outreau affair and acquitted in 2005.
