They were hard to tell apart: cult moderator Elton (51) mourns his double Mirko Thiele († 45). The Saxon died unexpectedly on January 28th.
Elton in an emotional Facebook post: “Now Mirko died suddenly, unexpectedly and far too early. My condolences go out to all the bereaved who knew and loved him. Of course, the family is the worst affected.”
The moderator continues: “As part of Elton TV, we were looking for a double of mine on the TV show and we found one. The resemblance was amazing, only the dialect was… shall we say… getting used to.”
His big appearance on “TV Total”
Thiele looked so much like Elton that he once represented him on “TV Total” as Stefan Raab’s (56) assistant.
It was the Saxon that made him fly on the show – although Raab had introduced him with “And here is Elton”. “Hello Gölln”, that didn’t sound like Elton. From a purely visual point of view, he would probably not have been exposed as a double.
“We only did everything once. I was excited like crazy,” Thiele said at the time “Free Press”. The audience in the studio would not have known that a fake Elton was coming. Not even the rate candidate for “embarrassing or cashing in” was initiated.
Thiele continues: “But they noticed when I opened the Gusche. After my performance, Raab enlightened the studio.”

In his home town of Brand-Erbisdorf, Thiele has been a volunteer on the city council for almost 25 years, where he was a member of the left-wing parliamentary group. In addition, according to the “Free Press” the Committee for Culture, Sport and Social Affairs. After Thiele’s death, the city council held a minute’s silence.
In addition, the Elton double worked as a materials tester in a regional company. His colleagues said goodbye with an obituary: “His reliability and helpfulness as well as his tireless commitment distinguished him. He will leave a big void. We will honor the memory of the deceased.”
