Corridors with severe damage to the walls and puddles of water, clogged bathrooms and baskets overflowing with hospital waste make up a panorama that patients and staff from the San Martín Hospital have encountered in recent days, according to the complaints that accompanied the claim for improvement of the installations.
In particular, the Rossi Pavilion located towards the area of 1 and 69 in the huge complex of the El Mondongo neighborhood was pointed out.
According to the complaints, the deterioration of the building would be compounded by the effects of a conflict with personnel who carry out cleaning tasks there.

The pavilion is the first to be founded, in 1885. With its creation the history of the “Polyclinic” begins, which today has a dozen buildings.
Infrastructure problems in this old sector appear throughout the last decades in complaints from patients and doctors.
“I was treated at the hospital and I have gone to visit patients. Waiting to be able to see that person, I have toured the place and it made me sad to see him like this, ”said Jorge, a merchant from La Plata who said he had passed through the health center in 2020, as a patient with Covid-19.
“In the guard you have to wait a lot, but for the attention inside the Hospital I take off my hat. I was hospitalized for ten days and I am grateful. Since they treated me well, I go there, but it makes me sad to see how bad it is. The worst are the bathrooms. There is also garbage everywhere due to a problem with the cleaning people and corridors with badly damaged walls and puddles of water. Outside, the pigeons made a mess on the walls,” he said.
From the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health it was reported that in the last three years “70 people were designated to reinforce the cleaning services and today (yesterday) that Pavilion was cleaned.”
At the same time, it was denied that there was a conflict of a union nature that affected hygiene.
On the other hand, it was indicated that there are works to improve the infrastructure in process “due to damage”.
For this reason, more dirt is generated than usual, but at the same time, the cleaning scheme was reinforced, as assured by the Ministry of Health.
