This Sunday night the backpacks and uniforms will surely begin to be ready, because Next Monday, April 17, millions of children and adolescents throughout Mexico will return to school after the holiday bridge for Easter that the SEP put on.

As you surely know, the calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), gave preschool, primary and secondary students a vacation period that began on Monday 3 and ended on Friday, April 14, for which the return to classes will be on the 17th of the same month.

The SEP extended the holidays in two states of Mexico

The thing is that the “news” that the SEP extended the holidays and the not very expected return to school will have to wait. And if you have already thought about going back to the beach, think twice and keep reading.

It turns out that the SEP did announce that the return to school is going to be postponed until further notice, although this will not apply to schools located in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (that is, the State of Mexico and CDMX).

Schools in Baja California and Guerrero will wait for the SEP to return to school

It will be in schools in Baja California where the return to school will have to wait, because High temperatures in that state have caused landslides in several parts that prevent a good return to school, both for students and for students and their families.

On the other hand, in areas such as Acapulco, in the state of Guerrero, the return to school for high school students was also postponed and by decision of the technical spokesmen who are unemployed and demand that the SEP listen to some demands.

Back to school for others will continue (with apparent cold)

What we do recommend you do before going back to school – in case you do not live in the two mentioned states – is prepare your scarves and umbrellas, as a cold front is expected to enter that will bring low temperatures and rains in various parts of the country.

In case you have been wanting more vacations, then wait until Friday, April 28, when for reasons of the Technical Council there will be a long bridge for preschool, primary and secondary students.
