The Automobile Tramway Union (UTA) threatens a new strike for an indefinite period for non-payment of wages for the month of April. The news was confirmed by the Santa Fe transportation secretary, Osvaldo Miatello.

“The situation with national subsidies is complicated. They owe us March and April and for Santa Fe it means 1.7 billion pesos. At this time I trust there is an agreement. Some companies paid in full and others did not. At least to avoid a stoppage for the next few hours,” he said about the possibility of a new bus stoppage.

“The deadline is the fourth business day, which was last Friday. This Monday at noon they will decide what to do. The Ministry of Transport, notifies us what date. We continue to call and send messages within the ministry and it would give the impression of problems of lack of resources and not lack of will,” he clarified.

“UTA will surely ask for parity for these days”he concluded.
