With second division leaders Darmstadt 98, Patric Pfeiffer clearly has his sights set on the Bundesliga before the start of the second half of the season. But even if the lilies still gamble away promotion, the 23-year-old central defender should be on the road in the coming season.
Many Bundesliga clubs, including those from Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Frankfurt and Cologne, are courting Pfeiffer. The 1.96 meter man with goal instinct (four goals this season) is also attractive because of his contract situation: The contract at Böllenfalltor is expiring, Pfeiffer is available on a free transfer in the summer.
His adviser has now announced to the ‘kicker’ that there is a tendency towards a club where “the total package” sounds good to its player. However, the final decision cannot be expected before April. The Pfeiffer agent meanwhile considers a move to Darmstadt’s local rivals Eintracht Frankfurt “unlikely”.
