According to the testimony of “El Grande”, García Luna received on a monthly basis between one million and one and a half million dollars from the Sinaloa cartel, by way of bribes to let them operate in the country. Which contributed to the expansion of this criminal organization.
In addition, the drug trafficker pointed out that García Luna also gave them confidential information about the investigations and operations that were carried out to combat drug trafficking in Mexico at that time. Likewise, “El Grande” assured that these bribes were paid by Arturo Beltran Leyva.
