CDMX.- The organization SUMA Construyendo Sociedad temporarily closed the headquarters of the National Electoral Institute (INE) to demand that the councilors reduce their salaries and “excesses and luxury” disappear.
SUMA is made up of at least 75 neighboring, commercial and union groups from Mexico City, and is headed by local deputies who are promoting the presidential candidacy of Claudia Sheinbaum, who did not attend.
Before some 200 followers, the leaders assured, without showing proof, that the counselors earn 400,000 pesos a month, have armored trucks, have a bonus of 11,000 pesos for meals, a bonus of 20 million pesos a year and the four who conclude their cycle will leave with up to 15 million pesos.
Juan Rubio, leader of the Mexico City Workers Union, who took the opportunity to promote the Head of Government, affirmed that these excesses cannot be allowed while in the town up to four families have to live in a house and millions of citizens They earn minimum wage.
“We could not study, but we are not stupid, we can take the reins of this country and we have a project, that of the 4T, and we know that the only one who can continue is Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, but that is not the issue. The leader of the city’s Passenger Transport Network, Hugo Bautista, maintained that they are not promoting their disappearance, but they are promoting the disappearance of excesses, without explaining how this will be done with electoral Plan B.
“That juicy salaries that they have to reduce and live with a decent wage, as we proletarians live,” he said.
Agustín González, from the Francisco Villa Popular Front, assured that they are in the Chamber of Deputies to demand that legislators elect councilors who truly represent the people.
González said that the only intention of the left is to save institutions like the INE, which is why he plans to transform it.
“We are not against the INE, but rather the privileges of the directors of this General Council, who have anointed themselves as the enlightened, as those who have more rights than all citizens. We will be pending the renewal process,” he asserted.
“We want the four who enter to be councilors of the people, we also have colleagues with master’s degrees and doctorates, people know how to run an election. Those of us who count the votes know how to run an institution like this.”
The nonconformists took the opportunity to promote their organization and its leaders, including local deputies.
González commented that they had prevented a counselor from entering, but it was the president of the Center for Social Studies of the Business Coordinating Council (CEPOS), Arturo Germán Belmont, who went to the INE to present the Democratic Development Index of Mexico 2022.
“They insulted me saying why was I coming here and threatened to load the car, they were very angry and I told them: ‘And why are you angry?’ And they answered me: ‘because you are here, you have to go ‘, with another language,” he said after entering the electoral headquarters.
“So, so much wasted enthusiasm, so much time and so many people who are kicking the Mexican democratic system and failing to move from the old democracy of the 19th century in Mexico where there was a totally subjective system and where there was no objectivity.”
