The parliamentary group of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies will promote, before the end of the ordinary session, the approval of the reforms to the Civil Aviation Law, in order for Mexico to recover Category 1 and have the possibility of having with a state airline; as well as changes to the Mining Law, although in this last issue, the president of the Energy commission maintained that “there is no rush” to speed up its approval.

In this sense, the coordinator of Morena in San Lázaro, deputy Ignacio Mier Velazco, asserted that the opinion on reforms to the Civil Aviation Law will be mainly for Mexico to recover Category One, excluding the matter related to cabotage for allow the participation of foreign airlines to offer the service on some domestic routes.

“As I mentioned from the beginning, we were going to talk with the Government and with the other actors, especially with regard to aviation workers, and we decided that this is going to be separated from the opinion, and we are only going to work on what It has to do with the actions to recover category one in terms of aviation, which is a commitment that Mexico has, before the end of April,” he said.

Also president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), he added that his bench is also going to promote something that, he said, is necessary for the country, which has to do with part of what the Fourth Transformation is, to recover the national heritage, and we are going to promote the Mining Law. However, on this last issue, the president of the Energy Commission, Manuel Rodríguez González (Morena), said that “there is no rush” to speed up the approval of the Mining Law, since it will hardly seek to establish the best analysis route , discussion and ruling.

He stressed that it is a transcendental issue that needs to be taken with the greatest responsibility and seriousness possible, for which reason he considered that it is unlikely that this reform will be analyzed, discussed and approved in this regular session.

“We are not going to take long, but we are not in a hurry either, we want this law to have the support of the majority, on the one hand, of those who are in the mining industry, but especially also to guarantee the benefit, especially for all Mexicans, of a resource that we belongs to everyone.”

He said that he will establish communication with the president of the Economy, Trade and Competitiveness Commission to agree on the process, but “I can guarantee that there is no rush to do it; Yes, there is a commitment to carry out our parliamentary work, that is, it will not wait for a long time”.

“We have not yet met in joint commissions, that will be soon, but what I can tell you is that there will be no surprises. This will not be a process that starts and ends very quickly,” she reiterated. He emphasized that the dynamic that the Energy Commission has followed is to carry out the necessary consultations, especially when dealing with a topic of such importance and interest. “What does that mean? That we will have to have Open Parliament sessions, the number that are necessary depending on what we agree on.
