The first thing that comes to mind when talking about summer is the sun, the high temperatures and, of course, the water. The latter is precisely what is in short supply in a large part of the city and, according to residents, the already worrying situation is compounded by the lack of responses from the service concessionaire, Aguas Bonaerenses SA (ABSA).
The problems in the water supply in La Plata have become a constant and in a housing complex in La Loma they decided to say enough is enough. They have been without water for 45 days, they have filed countless claims and now they will move forward with a massive protection that will not only include them but also 400 other neighbors with the same problem.
“We are used to the fact that every summer there is a day a week when we do not have water, but this time it is already extraordinary”counted Paula a neighbor of the affected building at 44 and 29, to 0221.com.ar and indignantly added: “Practically since the beginning of the year we have had no water and when we call ABSA all they give us is a claim number. I have fifteen hundred claim numbers and they are useless.”
This summer has been very difficult for residents of different neighborhoods of the city and, like Paula’s, there are many other similar stories.
