Veracruz Mexico.- Isauro Ambrosio Tocohua, who was elected Mayor of the Rafael Delgado Municipality, Veracruz, was shot to death this Friday night.
According to local reports, the mayor of Fuerza Por México was attacked by a commando of hitmen when he was traveling aboard a vehicle through the streets of San Juan del Río, seat of the municipal seat.
The Veracruz Secretary of Public Security reported the attacks around 11:30 p.m., after deploying an operation with the Secretary of National Defense to find those responsible.
“After an armed attack on the Mayor of the municipality of Rafael Delgado, State Security Forces, in coordination with Sedena, activate Red Code Operation to find those responsible for the attack,” the agency reported.
The Rafael Delgado City Council mourned the loss and urged the authorities to find the perpetrators of the crime.
“Today the people of Rafael Delgado are in mourning. We condemn the events that occurred and we are collaborating with the authorities of the Prosecutor’s Office to clarify the crime of our friend.
