The Banking Association ratified a 24-hour national strike for this Thursday, February 23after they did not reach an agreement in the negotiation for salary with the businessmen of the sector, within the framework of the 2023 parity and a remnant of last year.

This way, this week’s banking activity will have only two daysWednesday and Friday, because there was no attention this Monday and Tuesday due to the carnival holidays.

During an interview with C5N, the head of the union, Sergio Palazzo, indicated: “We have established as joint issues, before discussing the percentage, that there be some type of compensation by the companies for the income tax that the workers”.

On the other hand, the deputy of the Frente de Todos reiterated his claim about the bank workers who must pay the Income Tax and demanded a bonus from the companies, so that they compensate the impact of it on their affiliates.

“It’s an amount that, as time goes by, gets bigger and bigger and has a bigger percentage impact,” Palazzo explained. And he added: “Although we interpret that the salary is not profit, the project (which he sent to Congress) tends to reach high incomes and not the majority of workers.”

In the parity of 2022, The Bank obtained a salary improvement of 94.1%, which was placed just below the 94.8% of inflation shared by INDEC in December last year. Given this situation, they seek to compensate for this loss in the 2023 increase.
