Veracruz.- Firearm detonations in Xalapa, Veracruz They ended the lives of several people during the afternoon of Sunday, January 22.
According to information from local media, the actions took place on the Veracruz-Xalapa highway, at the height of the Las Bajadas neighborhood, near the Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport and from a naval base, which caused the red code to be activated.
For its part, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Veracruz reported that Federal and State forces maintain the Red Code operation in order to find those responsible.
“We urge citizens to remain calm and we appreciate their collaboration in reporting any act constituting a crime,” The security institution said in a brief statement on social networks.

A strong military operation was deployed in the area, as at least two trucks with armed people were registered. Local media detailed as a preliminary balance five people dead, two of them minors. The figure later updated by the authorities indicated six fatalities and one wounded.
In the same way, it was reported that a closure on the free federal highway Veracruz-Xalapa, for which the population was asked to take alternate routes.
The facts would have derived from an alleged pursuit around 4:00 p.m., which turned into an armed combat. In one of the recordings, the intense detonations could be heard and a vehicle could be seen in the distance with its doors open, apparently used as cover.
In another of the videos shared on Twitter, a black van with State of Mexico plates crashed into a pole and with multiple bullet wounds, as well as elements of the Navy, could be seen up close. Apparently the person who recorded the events was one of the security elements, since he can be heard giving instructions to other uniformed officers while examining the area.
For its part, the Aeroméxico account reported possible delays due to road closures: “Your arrival at the Veracruz airport may take longer than expected due to the closure of roads in the vicinity of the airport. We suggest you take precautions.” indicated the company account.
Through social networks it was possible to see the truck that appears in the recordings that ended with a large number of bullet wounds. So far there have been no arrests for the events.
