Police are investigating the theft of a mare that occurred around 10:55 pm on Monday, at kilometer 3 of PR-606, Jaucas sector in Utuado.
According to the police report, the man was riding his mare when two individuals approached him and attacked him with a machete to the back of the head and he fell to the pavement.
Immediately afterwards, the subjects attacked him with their hands and feet on different parts of the body and took the animal away.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
The case was referred to the Robbery division of the Utuado Criminal Investigation Corps.
