Why do the tiles explode? This happened to chef Marilyn

Chef Marilyn had a tremendous scare after the tiles in her residence began to explode.

Carly Carrión from the segment Remodelando Bien de Hoy Día Puerto Rico, came to the chef’s residence and offered an explanation of why the situation arose.

“The moment this happened, we were in a very strong heat wave and the house was closed. Being closed is a combination of the heat, all the materials, the heat, the tiles, with the heat it expands and with the cold It contracts. We have a situation of some tiles installed for 20 years, tremendous heat, the house was closed because there was an expansion, and that is what causes (the tiles) to rise,” explained Carrión.

He also stressed that it is important that when installing the tiles, a space must be left on the walls to give the residence the opportunity to expand.

“When you stick a slab to the wall, you don’t allow it, you don’t give space for the house to move, to expand with the extreme heat we’re having. It’s important to leave a quarter of an inch of separation from the wall to compensate with that movement that we know is going to be,” he concluded.

Chef Marilyn went through this situation and Carly Carrión explains why.
