The Misiones Police, the Ministry of Agriculture and Production, together with the federal forces, carry out controls to prevent the theft and irregular commercialization of tobacco leaves that may affect producers in the province.
Tobacco producers and cooperatives in the sector, after several meetings held in recent days with the Ministry of Agriculture and Production, requested greater controls to prevent theft and smuggling of raw materials.
The meetings were led by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Production, Facundo López Sartori, accompanied by the Undersecretary of Tobacco Carlos Pereira, as well as the Provincial Deputy Omar Olsson, the Deputy Chief of Police Víctor Eduardo Maj, the Director of Security Citizen and Criminal Policy, Mr. Rodolfo Seredynski, representatives of the Argentine National Gendarmerie, of the Argentine Naval Prefecture, the head of the Misiones tobacco cooperative Jorge Rolando Kappaunn, the ATM and representatives of the Business Union Entities.
That is why the Ministry of Government ordered the provincial security force to carry out exhaustive cargo controls, thus avoiding any type of crime and irregularity in Misiones, which may affect small and large producers.
For the transfer of tobacco cargo, the freighter must have the corresponding delivery notes that justify what was transported, the waybill guide and final destination where it will be deposited.
Intervention
The troops from the Alba Posse police station in Paraje Laranjera, intercepted at 1:30 in the morning today, two trucks carrying a total of 79 bales of tobacco, which at the time of the procedure did not have the remittances of origin. and destiny. In addition, it was detected that the carriers were carrying three handies and more than one million pesos.
The Investigating Judge One of Oberá ordered the delay of the five involved, between 20 and 31 years old, the kidnapping of the vehicles and the elements found in their possession, in order to establish the origin of the tobacco leaves.
