Three people die after an airstrike in two cities near the border between Ukraine and Poland

At least three people died after two cities in western Ukraine were hit by night air raidsas reported by local authorities early Tuesday morning.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that “residential buildings were hit» in a missile attack. “There is a fire on the upper floors. We are evacuating people. All services are in place,” he said on Telegram.

Until now, Lviv has escaped Russian bombing. In July, 10 people were killed in what Sadovyi said was Moscow’s biggest attack on this city since the Russian invasion began in February 2022.

Some 150 kilometers to the north, in lutsk, Mayor Igor Polishchuk said that “one of the industrial enterprises (in the city) was hit” by missiles. “All emergency services are on the scene,” he declared.

In the attack they resulted injured two peopleaccording to Yuriy Poguliaiko, governor of the Volhynia region.

Lutsk is less than 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border with Poland. In March last year, at least four Ukrainian soldiers were killed and six wounded in Russian attacks on the city’s military airport.
