A Russian recruit is said to have brutally murdered prisoners of war. According to the Ukrainian secret service, he is said to have admitted the crimes over the phone.

According to the Ukrainian secret service SBU, a Russian soldier has murdered prisoners of war. He admitted in a phone call that he cut the throats of Ukrainian soldiers.

“These were prisoners of war. There was no reason to keep them because we had received all the information from them,” the soldier is said to have said in a conversation with an acquaintance. “They have to be disposed of,” the phone call, which was apparently intercepted, continues. However, the authenticity of the recording cannot be independently verified at this time.

Another action announced

The soldier is said to be a 28-year-old man from Novgorod. He was recruited in 2022 and stationed in the Kharkiv region. According to the SBU, he described in detail how he killed the soldiers. “I’ve done it often enough,” he is quoted as saying. “A person has to be stabbed. This is not the first time for me. I don’t care,” he announced, according to the recording, another act that he wanted to commit after the conversation.

The secret service stated that the soldier, who was known by name, should be held accountable like all war criminals. A video recently surfaced of a Ukrainian prisoner of war having his head cut off.
