The Cuban singer-songwriter Willy Chirino celebrated his 50 years of artistic life with a new gift made by two great friends, a version of his theme Soyinterpreted by Tito Nieves and Gilberto Santa Rosa.

“Thankful to God for all the blessings and celebrations that continue around my 50 year career. These two monsters of music, Tito Nieves and Gilberto Santa Rosahave joined their extraordinary voices and have recorded a duet Soya song I wrote precisely 50 years ago, for my first album One man Alone,” Chirino said.

At the beginning of 2023 the exhibition opened “Willy Chirino: 50 years of music”inaugurated at the Miami History Museum as a tribute to the career of the salsa singer.

Among the things on display is the manuscript of his song “It’s Coming”an anthem for generations of Cubans, composed at the beginning of the 90’s.

The opening of the exhibition was the beginning of a wide program of activities to celebrate such an important anniversary in the life of the singer-songwriter. Then in March they arrived concerts in Miami and Colombia where the musician was able to interact directly with his audience.

A few weeks ago Chirino was elected Grand Marshall of the Cuban-Hispanic American Parade in New York. This outstanding event has the objective of highlighting Cuban music, dance, food, and cultural roots.
