Farewell letter, a crime and a life marked by pain / Web

As EL DIA reported in its previous editions, Olga Naum, the renowned 74-year-old fashion designer, was found dead last Saturday in a hotel room in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires where she had stayed the day before.

As the days go by, Olga’s death continues to dismay the environment not only of the show, and in the last hours the behind of a life full of fame was known, but also by a family surrounded by tragedy.

It should be remembered that Naum was found dead in a room on the 5th floor of the Up hotel in Recoleta. Next to her were two blister packs and two clonazepam drippers, a farewell letter, and a newspaper clipping.

Now, what is behind his death? According to relatives and friends of the designer, she had been suffering from depression for several days as a result of the arrest of her grandson Joaquín Salgado, 19, for homicide, and her son, Ezequiel Emilio Salgado, 45, for possession and illegal carrying of weapons.

The designer’s grandson is the main accused of the crime of the son of a councilwoman in Saladillo, while his father (Olga’s son) is accused of illegally possessing and carrying a weapon of war, since in his truck he had 38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.

This situation destabilized the designer.

This was reflected in a letter that he left written before he died and that was found next to his body last Saturday, a day after the transfer of the defendants to a prison in La Plata was confirmed.

In the aforementioned letter, the woman referred to family misfortunes, including Joaquín’s and how she did not want to see him imprisoned.

Then, he referred to the investigation into the incident and to the prosecutor in charge of the file. She even assured that the son of a judicial official would have provided his granddaughter with narcotics.

A PAINFUL FAMILY HISTORY

As was public knowledge, Olga Naum’s life was successful in professional terms, but it was also marked by tragic episodes at a family and personal level that would soon end up surpassing her.

On June 22, 1984, the sinister “Puccio clan” attempted to kidnap Emilio “Milo” Naum. He was the third victim of him.

Arquímedes Puccio, who met the businessman in a real estate operation, pretended to have problems with his car and asked Naum for help, who “accidentally” was passing by.

Realizing that they wanted to kidnap him, Emilio (38 years old, married, father of two daughters) tried to escape and was assassinated at point-blank range in the middle of the street, in broad daylight.

Approximately eight years ago, Olga Naum once again suffered a true blow to the soul: one of her grandchildren died when she fell from an elevator.

From this fact, he closed everything, moved away from design and dedicated himself to his home, to his family.

Finally, as mentioned above, three days after celebrating her Golden Wedding Anniversary with her husband, on December 19, a new tragedy struck the family again.

His grandson broke into the rehearsal at the rural San José establishment with a firearm and, for no apparent reason, shot at his friends.

He fatally wounded Lorenzo King, son of Frente de Todos councilor Silvina Costignola, and hit the arm of Tomás Santopolo, son of La Plata prosecutor Patricia Hortel. All of this would have led to her sad end.
