The director Michael Bay was denounced by the Italian authorities as a result of an alleged incident that occurred in 2018, when the filmmaker was in the city of Rome to shoot his film ‘6 Underground’.

According to the police report, one of the cranes that carried the cameras necessary for recording the film hit one of the many pigeons that live in the center of the Italian capital: an impact that caused the instantaneous death of the animal.

In the eternal city it is strictly forbidden to attack or end the life of wild animals. Although the death of the bird is not directly attributed to the filmmaker, Bay must answer to justice as the main person in charge of the film production, something to which he refuses.

Sources close to the director told TMZ that the accusations against him are completely false and that none of the pigeons used in the recording, properly trained, suffered damage of any kind.

“Everyone who knows him knows that Michael is an animal rights activist. None of what has been said happened on the filming set. There are dozens of witnesses who stressed that this simply did not happen,” an informant explained to the aforementioned news portal. However, the prosecution maintains that a member of the team saw the accident, took several photos and handed over all this material to the police.

Those same confidants revealed that the Hollywood star has tried on several occasions, without success, for the judge to dismiss the allegations filed against him and definitively close the case, all this after rejecting all the agreements that the public prosecution would have proposed so that the punishment is limited to a small fine.

For Bay it would be a matter of principle, since he will never accept a hypothetical involvement in the death or suffering of any animal.
