Even if Mykhaylo Mudryk was not the player of choice, Mikel Arteta received the desired offensive reinforcement. Instead of the Ukrainian, who chose Chelsea, it will be Leandro Trossard.
As officially confirmed by Arsenal FC, the Belgian is moving from league rivals Brighton & Hove Albion to north London. The 28-year-old was under contract in the southern English coastal town until 2024. The fee is estimated at 30 million euros.
Arteta is happy about the successful deal: “It’s a good job by everyone at the club to finalize the signing of Leandro. He is a versatile player with high technical ability, intelligence and a lot of experience in the Premier League and internationally.”
Trossard has appeared in 17 competitive games for the Seagulls this season and has been directly involved in ten goals (seven goals, three assists). The 24-cap Belgium international, who is mostly at home on the flanks, made 35 appearances for Brighton last season and scored eight goals.
