Two Argentines died and seven other compatriots were injured, two of them seriously, after a collision between two cars near the Uruguayan resort of Manantiales, in the department of Maldonado, reported the firefighters of that town.
According to the official report, the car in which the fatalities were traveling was a Ford Ka that was carrying four women: two of them deceased and who were identified as Micaela Trinidad and María Josefina Ferrero.
Of the two companions, only Melanie Larraburu was identified and the other woman, who reportedly had serious injuries, was not identified. Most of them present themselves on social networks as models and influencers and have thousands of followers on Instagram.
In the other vehicle, a Volkswagen Nivus, five people were circulating: Nicolás Rocca was the driver and the companions were identified as Nazarena Sierra, Melina Antun, Juan Pablo Sentero and Luciano Strassera, who was a partner of Gianinna Maradona between 2013 and 2015.
The accident took place at 2:00 p.m., when a Ford Ka with “Argentine registration” and four people on board, one man and three women, collided head-on with a Volkswagen Nivus van in which five Argentines were traveling.
As a result of the impact, two women traveling in the Ford Ka lost their lives, while the companions had to be hospitalized in serious condition at the Cantegril Sanatorium in Maldonado.
According to the official report of the Maldonado fire department, there was “a frontal collision between two light vehicles, on Route 104 at the corner of Las Ballenas, near Manantiales.” He also indicates that four other people, two men and two women, suffered minor injuries.
Members of the Barra de Maldonado and San Carlos Fire Departments worked.
“The crash is being investigated by the scientific police” to determine the causes, sources in the case indicated.
As indicated, among the injured is Luciano “Lucho” Strassera, a young man from La Plata who long ago served in the Ministry of Culture and Education during the administration of Mayor Julio Garro.
Before disembarking in Cambiemos, Strassera was related to the musical environment as manager of a cumbia band and singer in another.
For a time he had a relationship with Gianinna Maradona, Diego’s youngest daughter.
