This Thursday afternoon, two Austrian tourists who were walking through the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Mouth they were stabbed by criminals who were riding bicycles and who tried to rob them.

The violent event occurred in broad daylight, on Pedro de Mendoza street at 1800, at the intersection with Palos, in front of the Matanza Riachuelo Riverbank, in the City of Buenos Aires.

As far as TN could know, the victims are siblings: a 34-year-old man named Gernot Beihammer, and a 29-year-old woman identified as Julia König-Beihammer. Both came to Argentina to do tourism and at the time of the assault they were visiting the Caminito area.

At one point during the walk, two thieves surprised them and demanded that they hand over their belongings. They carried bladed weapons, with which they threatened and then injured the victims. It is not known if the tourists resisted, but it is known that the criminals did not steal anything from them and fled by bicycle.

Neighbors alerted 911 and personnel from the 4 C Neighborhood Police Station of the City Police quickly arrived at the scene. Upon arriving at Pedro de Mendoza and Palos, the troops verified that The two people were injured, although not at risk to their lives, and were referred by SAME to the Argerich Hospital.

According to medical sources, the woman received a cut on her thigh and had to be sutured, while the man suffered a sharp but superficial wound on his arm. Both are out of danger and have already been discharged.
