Two people are accused of stealing cell phones during a Rolling Loud Miami concert

Two people have been arrested and charged with stealing more than two dozen cellphones from attendees at a Rolling Loud Miami concert last weekend, police said Friday.

Kevin Andrés Vargas, 28, and Dayana Marín, 22, were arrested Sunday, the last day of the hip hop music festival that was held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

According to the arrest reports, police officers approached Vargas after notes that he was not wearing the concert-goer’s bracelet, in addition to the fact that he was carrying a non-transparent backpack, which was in violation of the rules of the event.

Searching the backpack, officers found 12 iPhones inside a black bag that is used to block cell phone signals, police said.

Shortly after, the agents detained Marín, who was running through the crowd with a black bag, inside which were found 16 iPhones wrapped in aluminum foil, as well as a victim’s wallet, the report said.

Vargas and Marin face third-degree grand theft charges. In addition, Marín faces additional charges of possession of stolen property and giving a false name to authorities.

Both were released on bail on Friday.
