The Ugreen Nexode 100 Watt USB-C power supply is a powerful charger for smartphones, tablets or notebooks. The GaN charger has two USB-C ports on the top. The Ugreen Nexode power supply supports Power Delivery 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0+ as well as the predecessor Quick Charge 3.0. Samsung devices can also be charged using the Galaxy 45W Super Fast Charging II protocol. There is no LED on the top. As a result, the charger can also be used in the bedroom without creating an annoying light source.
A current 16-inch MacBook can be fully charged in almost two hours using the Ugreen Nexode power supply. Devices with a smaller battery are charged correspondingly faster. Since Ugreen has built in two USB ports, two devices can be powered at the same time. It is conceivable that one output charges a power bank, while the second USB port takes over the power supply for another gadget. The respective USB connections proved to be stable with our colleague Timm Mohn. In the test, there were no aborts when loading.
Little waste heat
The GaN technology inside the Ugreen power supply ensures that little heat is generated during charging. The technology inside has been further improved compared to older GaN chargers, so that heat is now dissipated more efficiently and end devices can be charged safely and quickly. A chip is also installed inside the power supply unit, which is intended to prevent short circuits and make charging as safe as possible. So far it was not necessary to activate any protective mechanisms.
If the maximum performance of a USB port is to be exhausted, it is advisable not to plug in a second cable. The more devices are operated with the charger, the less power a USB port can provide. Ugreen already illustrates on the article page that the power supply can also be used with the USB cable of current MacBooks.
