If you plan to process your visa for the United States, keep in mind that it will cost you more as of this Saturday, June 17.

The increase will apply to tourist, business, student, temporary worker and investor visas.

The new prices of the fees for the so-called non-immigrant visas are calculated from the costs of consular services, according to the state department.

WHICH VISAS WILL INCREASE IN PRICE?

  • Tourist visas (B1/B2), student and exchange visas (F, M and J) and business visas (BCC) will go from $160 to US $185.
  • Visas for temporary jobs (H, L, O, P, Q and R) will go from $190 to $205.
  • Investment (E) visas will increase from US$205 to US$315.

Keep in mind that the waiting periods for each type of visa vary depending on the Embassy or Consulate of the United States in which you apply.

The Embassy of Bogotá is, currently, the one that reports the longest delay to process the tourist visa with a wait of up to more than two years.
