This Monday, about 40 residents of the city appeared at the headquarters of the Second Police Station to denounce that they had been scammed by an alleged seller who offered various household items on Facebook.
The fraudster under the false name of Carla Astrada highlighted in a post made on the mentioned social network that due to moving to Buenos Aires he finished off his belongings. This is how she offered, with illustrative photos included: “Portable hot and cold air conditioning for summer use only $30,000; Pelopincho 2.70 x 1.60 one month of use practically new in full box $22,000; Freezer Gafa 285 liters semi new $32,000; Rod.16 bicycle with semi-new wheels $20,000; carob table and 6 chairs dining room set without polished details without scratches or bumps $28,000; no-frost stainless steel refrigerator with water dispenser (ready to use) $35,000; Double square box spring and a half 6 months of use worth seeing $30,000 and Samsung washing machine dryer 10 kilos little use $30,000“.
The truth is that when contacted by the interested parties, the scammer gives them a cell phone number to communicate and closes the operations through WhatsApp. In this way, according to the testimony of one of the complainants, he tells her that she needs to close the negotiation as soon as possible and asks her to transfer the agreed money to a bank account. He at the same time gives him an address of Venado Tuerto, May 25, 1172, so that he can pick up the purchased items.
Of course, the buyers go to the place and find that a woman lives in said house who answers that she had nothing to do with the sale. “The same thing happened to at least 40 people who arrived at the address they indicated to us. Many of us went with freight to take our things. We all went to look for the same refrigerator, the same freezer…”, one of the victims told Radio Jota. In addition, she clarified that in her case she transferred more than $100,000.
For now, no further details have been officially released in this regard, the case was left in the hands of the prosecutor Andrea Caballero.
