A 5-year-old girl died on Saturday after a military plane crashed near Turin in northern Italy during a training exercise, authorities said, Reuters and AFP reported.

The accident occurred when an MB-339 plane plummeted to the ground during takeoff. The pilot was able to eject, but according to the website of the daily La Repubblica, an incandescent part of the plane broke off and hit the car the girl was in.
