The moment a large shark weighing about 100 kilos attacked a swimmer who was snorkeling in the Maldives was recorded on video.

The heavy animal sank its teeth into the side of his back.

The victim was identified as Carmen Canovas Cervello, 30, and was left with a wound of about 15 centimeters.

What was the woman doing swimming near sharks?

Cervello was exploring the site with his photographer friend Ibrahim Shafeeg, 37.

The couple was filming their adventure below the surface when they came across a dozen free-swimming sharks.

The friends, both in scuba gear, enjoyed a splash with the 10-foot-wide beasts for more than 45 minutes, until one got too close.

The shark clung to Carmen’s back and managed to cause damage.

The entire incident was recorded with Ibrahim’s GoPro Hero 9.

Both friends immediately jumped out of the water to assess Carmen’s injuries while they were cleaned and the shark teeth removed from her side.

According to what they say, the couple after the attack submerged again, since it was nothing serious.
