The Colombian Association of Seeds and Biotechnology (Acosemillas) presents the different actors of the productive chains, people from academia, research, production, marketing, transformation and the final consumer, their 8th National Seed Congress; academic event that will take place in Villavicencio and is organized by the union since 1979. It is the most important in the seed sector in Colombia, where various relevant issues of the sector are addressed.

This year, The venue for the 8th National Seed Congress will be the Hotel Estelar in the city of Villavicenciowhich on November 2 and 3, will open its doors to receive nearly 300 guests who, together, from their specific role as actors in the production chains, will exchange knowledge and build a collective dialogue around the great challenges and prospects for the agricultural sector.

According to Leonardo Ariza, general manager of Acosemillas, “for this 2023 our motto is “Quality, legality, coexistence: dialogue from the seeds”. This academic space in Villavicencio seeks not only to promote the importance and benefits of using excellent quality seeds and the benefits of biotechnology in agriculture, but rather we seek to recognize and highlight the contribution made by the different production systems to food security and the country’s agribusiness, because the countryside is a place where we all fit and can coexist harmoniously.
The union leader also assured that “This eighth version of the congress in Villavicencio has a varied academic agenda with national and international guests who will address current issues of interest to the sector, as well as a trade show where companies in the sector can promote their products or services, do business or do important commercial contacts will also be able to enjoy a field trip where we will visit agribusiness projects in the Altillanura”.
