“Milei is bringing to the national discussion recipes that don’t work and didn’t work in the world,” warned De Pedro and maintained that today at a global level “they are discussing how the capitalist model is conducted: if the State conducts it with a kind of anarchy without rules, aimlessly and without planning, or if it is the political systems and the State that give perspective to the capitalist system”.
In this sense, the official valued the “key role of the State” during the pandemic, with the “level of intervention” that governments had to face the new needs that the situation raised.
He added that currently, this situation also occurs in “regions of the world” whose governments are involved “in order to maintain employment numbers.”
“That discussion by Milei that wants the Central Bank, the State and all the tools that have to do with economic recovery to disappear, must be debated, because as society discusses it, the most likely thing is that it will deflate. “, considered De Pedro in statements to Radio 10.
At the same time, he pointed out that “a little more serious discussion is necessary in Argentina” to discuss the ideas proposed in the campaign.
“We must be patient, not get ahead of ourselves, we have to discuss and publicize the consequences of the policies that Milei proposes a little more,” he insisted.
For De Pedro, “when one attacks a leader who has been growing in the polls, one forgets that there are people behind him electing him” and he said: “We have to explain to them and discuss the ideas that he has to convince them.”
However, he remarked that “those who win” elections are the leaders who have “experience in management and territory” and that when those who “arrive at the Casa Rosada do not know Argentina, no matter how good their intentions are,” it is clear that “it is very difficult to govern what is not known”.
Regarding the inmate of the FdT and the PASO, the official affirmed that “the unit is not under discussion” and opined that “we must not only be together” but also “expand and add new actors.”
“When I say that new actors must be added, I am not referring only to political leaders but also to actors in Argentine daily life who were harmed by Cambiemos,” he clarified.
In this direction, he emphasized that it is necessary to discuss “those policies that caused 25,000 companies to be founded” and “go look for the 25,000 owners, their employees, go look for all the players in the economy that were left out.” .
“You have to talk to the municipalities that did not receive any type of investment as a result of a centralist policy in which most of the investment was defined and executed in the city of Buenos Aires, and go look for the provinces that were branded as ‘unfeasible,'” De Pedro said.
In addition, he emphasized that “leaders are needed who have the capacity to make decisions with a certain degree of risk” since “whenever you go against certain sectors of power there are consequences.”
