The Walborg festival has once again taken over the student city of Lund. Tens of thousands of party-hungry visitors are expected to make the pilgrimage not least to Stadsparken – for laughter, music, picnics and perhaps the occasional alcoholic drink in the company of good friends.
The impromptu party usually attracts around 25-30,000 visitors and the police have announced that they will be there with an extra number of police officers and also police volunteers.
Nitrous oxide debate and entrance tape to the student accommodation
And even before the party has started, it has been noticed in the media.
Among other things, it has been about students at the Parantesen accommodation in Lund having to show up entrance band to get into their home – a way that the housing association takes to prevent large parties from derailing.
It has also been about the municipality’s efforts to stop the sale of nitrous oxidewhere the politicians’ decision on an extended ban was stopped by the County Administrative Boardbefore that in the end anyway went through.
