Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is fast approaching and we already know that great gameplay developments are planned. However, that’s not all since the return of the famous Resurgence mode was also expected and Infinity Ward has just unveiled the new map of this mode so popular with players.

Ashika Island will be the new battleground for Resurgence mode

The developers of Infinity Ward therefore confirmed last night that the Resurgence mode would return at the start of Season 2 with a new map. Radical change of atmosphere since Ashika Island will be a Japanese island thus offering a whole new environment, a new climate and new buildings that we did not have on Al Mazrah. Several points of interest on the map had leaked, but here are the ones that the developers made official yesterday:

  • Tsuki Castle
  • Residential district
  • Oganikku Farm
  • beach club
  • Downtown
  • Ashika Harbor

Note also that a network of sewers will be accessible under the map in order to move more quickly or take opponents from behind. This can predict a beautiful verticality for this new map and thus offer new ways of approaching the fights. Ashika Island will be able to accommodate around fifty players in Resurgence mode, but it will also be playable in DMZ mode and in Modern Warfare II in land warfare.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will launch on February 15 and the games are still available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5 and PC.
