In a publication posted this Friday, January 27, 2023, on his Facebook page Tarikithe National Gendarmerie called on motorists to postpone their trips to regions hosting a large number of citizens, especially during the weekend, such as Chréa and Tikjda.

According to the same source, these two regions are experiencing significant snowfall and accumulation. Moreover, the National Gendarmerie did not fail to note the closure of the roads leading to Chréa and Tikjda. Expressing the intervention of its units, in coordination with the competent authorities, in order to reopen the roads to traffic and lend a hand to the citizens who are blocked there.

It should be recalled that Météo Algérie has placed in orange vigilance, level 2, the wilayas of: Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Naama, El Bayadh, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Laghouat, Djelfa, Médéa, Ain Defla, Blida, Boumerdes , Tizi-Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj and Bouira. Warning against snowfall and ice, the thickness of which will reach between 10 and 20 cm, and this, during the day until at least 6:00 p.m.

Bad weather: several roads blocked in Tizi Ouzou and Bouira

In addition, the National Gendarmerie also released the latest update on the state of the roads this Friday, January 27. According to information reported by Tarikithe bad weather caused the closure of several roads, and this, at the level of five (5) wilayas of the country.

In the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou, the snowfalls caused the closure of the national road (RN) n° 15 connecting between the wilayas of Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, precisely at the level of the Col de Tirourda, commune of Iferhounène. The National Gendarmerie also announced the closure of the RN n ° 33 at the level of the locality Aswel, commune of Ait Boumahdi. As well as the closure of the RN n ° 30 at the level of the locality of Tizi N’Koulène, commune of Iboudraren.

At the level of the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou, the accumulation of snow also caused the closure of the road of wilaya n ° 11 at the level of the village Tiguemounine, commune of Ouacif. But also, the wilaya path n ° 9 at the Col de Chellata, commune of Beni Zikki, and the wilaya path n ° 251 at the level of the Chréa pass, commune Béni Zikki. As well as the path of wilaya n ° 253 linking between the wilayas of Béjaia and Tizi Ouzou.

In addition, the snowfall caused the closure of roads in Bouira. This is the RN No. 15 linking between the municipalities of Aghbalou (Bouira) and Ifrhounène (Tizi Ouzou), precisely at the level of the Tirouda pass. It is also a question of the RN n° 33 linking between the communes of Bouira and Ouacif (w. of Tizi Ouzou), at the level of the locality of Tikjda and Tirourda, commune of El Asnam. And of the RN n° 30 at the level of the commune of Saharidj.

Concerning the wilaya of Blida, the National Gendarmerie indicated that the snowfalls caused the closure of the RN n ° 37 linking between the communes of Chréa and Blida. But also the closure of wilaya road No. 49 linking the municipalities of Chréa and Hammam Melouane.

In addition, the snowfalls have impacted the fluidity of traffic in two other wilayas, these are Tlemcen and Souk Ahras. Indeed, according to the latest update of Tarikiat the level of the wilaya of Tlemcen, the accumulation of snow caused the closure of the road of wilaya n ° 70 at the level of the municipality of Tallout, as well as of the RN n ° 99 connecting between the municipalities of Beni Boussaïd and El Boihi.

Finally, with regard to the wilaya of SoukAhras, the snowfall caused the closure of the RN n ° 82 at the level of Col El Ahmed, commune of Ouled Driss. As well as the RN n ° 20 at the level of Fernana, commune of Ain Zana.
