Avatar: the path of water surpassed Titanic in a record in the history of cinema that has surprised locals and strangers in the world of cinema.
The film released in December 2022 only needed a little more than two months to achieve this distinction, achieved even before the re-release of Titanic in theaters for its 25th anniversary.

Avatar 2 has become the third highest-grossing film in film history, grossing $2,243.3 million, without taking inflation into account, surpassing Titanic with its anniversary relaunch.
The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (also an actress in the sequel to Avatar) obtained a worldwide collection of 2,194 million to 2,242.8 million dollars, according to US media based on data from the auditing company Comscore.
The ranking of highest grossing films is headed by Avatar (2009), with 2,920 million dollars, escorted by Avengers: Endgame (2019), which achieved 2,790,000 million. The following is the second part of Avatar, placing James Cameron as the director of three of the four highest-grossing films of all time.

WILL THE SEQUELS OF AVATAR DOMINATE THE RANKING OF HIGHEST GROSSING FILMS?
Disney took a great risk with the Avatar saga, which it bought through the acquisition of Fox. According to the specialized website Deadline Hollywood, the film cost about 460 million dollars and James Cameron assured that it was one of the “worst deals in the history”, because to achieve profits he had to “become the second or third highest grossing in history”.
The success of Avatar 2 ended up opening the possibility that its sequels will also be one of the highest grossing. For example, Avatar 4, of which Cameron has shot around a third -because there will be a time jump- will be released in 2026, while 5 will be in 2028.
The sense of water will also seek to win up to four Oscars, including best film, at the gala on March 12.
