What’s new for WhatsApp stories

This Wednesday, a new WhatsApp update was announced, it allows users a tool to edit the stories and images within the platform with different font styles, just like on Instagram.

According to Meta, the new feature that is in development will be called “text editor”which is currently present on all devices, Android and iOS, but will get improved features that will allow text editing within images, videos and GIFs.

The new tool was disseminated in an image and you can see that it presents at least seven different types for the available letters, so we still need to know the denominations within the application of two more, among which is included the current font and the only one available in the text editor today.

Likewise, the interface for choosing fonts is also very similar to the one that can currently be seen on Instagram, which uses “bubbles” which include samples of the style of upper and lower case text on the keyboard on the screen of cell phones.

According to WABetaInfo, the fonts that can be seen in your screenshot would not be the only options to insert texts in the images, but users will be able to have new styles in the future.

This update is still under development and gives the team responsible for its implementation the opportunity to make changes and add new features. The new update of the beta version of the messages application is only available for users With devices running the Android operating system, people with iOS phones will have to wait longer for this feature to reach their devices.

The global rollout of this update could take several months due because it is still in the development phase and is only compatible with one type of device.

The updates arrive this year to many of the digital platforms, which have announced changes in their interfaces, as an example, Instagram and Twitter, which continue to test new tools to improve the experience they provide to their millions of users.
