WhatsApp is full of options within the settings menu and sometimes it is difficult to find exactly what you are looking for within so many menus. Probably because of this, in the Beta version of the messenger, a search tool is tested to find options within the section.

The finding appeared in version 2.23.8.20 of the app for Android, but it also appeared in the WhatsApp Beta of TestFlight, for iOS. According to the description on the WABetaInfo website, the tool will be available from the Settings screen, in a magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

When tapped on it, a text field opens to include the keywords of the desired option. As with iOS, the results are displayed right at the top of the screen.

Offering a search tool to find app options is an important addition to make the program easier to use, especially when there are many options and menus available — which is the case with WhatsApp. With the tool, users will be saved from wandering between sections to find a specific function, being able to just enter the name of the tool in the search and access it with a touch.

Currently in testing on WhatsApp

The WhatsApp search tool is being tested in the Beta version of the messenger and there is no forecast for the definitive launch. The function is incremental, so it’s possible that it won’t take long to implement.
