Last Wednesday the preliminary of the Miss Universe 2022 and they are already beginning to outline which will be the finalists and candidates to keep the crown this saturday january 14 in the evening. One of the highlights of the previous day was the Puerto Rican Ashley Ann Carino, who is shaping up to be the protagonist this weekend. She knows a little more about Miss Puerto Rico.
The seventy-first edition has as serious candidates several Latin American participants and within them, the performance of Cariño has stood out by far. In that sense, critics consider that Ashley Ann has a great chance of being one of the first finalists.
Below we will tell you a little about its history and how it came to this world contest.
WHO IS ASHLEY ANN CARIÑO, MISS PUERTO RICO 2022?
Born in the province of Fajardo, Puerto, on August 3, 1994Ashley Ann was the eldest of the five children that José Cariño and Olga Barreto had.
At the age of five he moved with his family to Kissimmee, Florida. Cariño attended Kissimmee Vocational and Technical High School, graduating in 2012, and was certified to work as a psychosocial rehabilitator.specialized in working with children with cognitive diversity.
I know she had been inspired to pursue psychosocial rehabilitation after overcoming childhood attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) herself.

Later, Ashley Ann enrolled at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida, and later transferred to the University of Central Florida where he studied aerospace engineering. Before competing in Miss USA 2021, Cariño hoped to work for NASA after graduation.
In 2021, Cariño began her career as a contestant at Miss Florida USA 2021. She was encouraged to participate after encouragement from her family and competed alongside her sister Joyce Barreto. Representing Kissimmee South, Cariño won the title in July 2021, becoming the first woman from Kissimmee to be crowned Miss Florida.
Like Miss FloridaCariño qualified to compete in Miss USA 2021. The Miss USA final was held on November 29, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Cariño was second finalistbehind winner Elle Smith of Kentucky and first runner-up Caitlyn Vogel of North Dakota.
After completing her reign as Miss Florida USA, Cariño moved back to Puerto Rico in order to claim eligibility for what was to be the 2022 edition of Miss Universe Puerto Rico. In June of last year, Cariño was announced as one of the 28 finalists to compete in the contest, now representing the municipality of Fajardo. At the end of the competition, as is known, she ended up being crowned Miss Puerto Rico 2022.
