Many businesses were affected by the armed confrontation that took place in Culiacán due to the arrest of Ovidio Guzmán, son of “El Chapo” Guzmán.

One of them was Walmart, which due to the violent actssuspended the operations of its branches from Thursday and until further notice throughout the state of Sinaloa.

In an official statement the situation was reported:

“As a preventive measure, our stores and clubs located in the state of Sinaloa will be closed, until further notice,” they explained.

According to the statement, until “safe conditions exist for its operation” the department stores will reopen.

They added that these measures were taken to care for the safety and integrity of their clients, partners, associates and suppliers.

It should be noted that Walmart de México includes commercial establishments such as Walmart Express, Bodega Aurrerá and Sam’s. This is the same case of Soriana, which announced the suspension of operations in its branches in the entity.

Coppel affected by drug violence

Coppel was one of the most affected by this wave of violence that took place in Culiacán, said establishment asked its collaborators, by email, protect yourself and operate remotely to respond to customers who were left without the service of the store, right at the height of the Three Kings.

“For security reasons and the recommendation of the state authorities, the operations of the store, Cedis and collection of the city of Culiacán are suspended until further notice,” he said.

For their part, transport services such as Uber and Didi also proclaimed in this regard:

“That’s right, we confirm the suspension of operations in Uber and Uber Eats. Everyone’s safety is always a priority,” Uber responded to the situation.

Didi and Didi Food informed their users of their suspension of work through text messages.

“Due to the security condition, our service operations are suspended from this moment on,” the app reported.
