In preparation for Patch Day in May, Microsoft is releasing new, non-security updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10. For version 22H2, the preview patches bring a handful of new features and a variety of bug fixes.

The updates for Windows 11 (KB5025305) and Windows 10 (KB5025297) raise the two operating systems to builds 22621.1635 and 19045.2913. As usual, the Redmond-based company will continue to refer to the updates as “Preview”, although after two weeks they are now available for all Windows users to download within the Release Preview channel.

Changes are visible under Windows 11 in the taskbar, for example. New animations are provided here for “some icons” – primarily in the widget button area. There is also a new slider in the Windows Update settings that, when activated, supplies PCs with future non-security updates even faster. In Windows 10, on the other hand, synchronization of language and region is being introduced, while both operating systems benefit from customized firewall options.

As usual, the updates can be downloaded via the Windows Update function within Settings if installation is not directly suggested.
