CDMX.- Top Gun: Maverick would be the Best Film for people over 50 after being chosen as the Best Film of the year against films seeking the Oscar, according to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
According to information from Deadline, the film starring Tom Cruise won the award against competitors like Everything Everywhere At the Same Time, The Fabelmans, Tár, Elvis and The King Woman.
AARP unveiled its selection of films this weekend at a ceremony held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Elvis was the film with the most awards, from Baz Luhrmann, who won the award for Best Director, to the recognition of Best Time Capsule.
Michelle Yeoh and Brendan Fraser won in the Best Actress and Best Actor categories, respectively.
AARP organizes its annual awards to promote films made by and starring people over the age of 50 to audiences of the same age.
Angela Lansbury was the first host of the award ceremony for these awards, which have been attended by Hollywood stars such as Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Sean Penn and George Clooney.
