Mexico City.– The grave where the remains of Lisa Marie Presley will rest is ready at Graceland, along with that of her father Elvis Presley and her son, Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.
According to TMZ, preparations began Tuesday, including a stage with a backdrop, which the outlet speculated could be for any musical performance taking place.
The funeral will take place on Sunday in the backyard of the Memphis mansion, attended by Priscilla Presley.
“In lieu of flowers, the family encourages anyone wishing to send something to do so in the form of a donation to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation,” the statement said.
Lisa Marie died on January 12 at the age of 54 after going into cardiac arrest at her California home.
She was rushed to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center and placed on life support, but was released after her family signed a DNR order.
Cause of death postponed
The cause of death of Lisa Marie Presley has yet to be officially determined, following the initial autopsy released by the Los Angeles County coroner.
“Presley was examined on January 14 and the cause of death information has been deferred. Deferred means that after an autopsy, the cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner requests further investigation into the death, including further studies.
“Once the evidence/studies come back, the doctor re-evaluates the case and determines the cause of death,” Sarah Ardalani, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, told CNN.
