SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Kyle Kuzma scored 32 points and the Washington Wizards capped a six-game road trip with a 125-111 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
“We did it tonight,” Kuzma said. “We played well… I put my heart into the field every night. I come ready to play. I have to show myself something every night,” he added.
The Wizards had 10 losses in 11 games. They snapped their losing streak by winning Tuesday at Phoenix and then fell again on the road to Utah on Thursday night.
Wizards coach Wes Unsend Jr. said the win “was down to our defense.”
“It allowed our deployment and running. It is one of the aspects that we have preached throughout the campaign. If we manage to stop the opponents we have the freedom to press ”.
Bradley Beal had 24 points for Washington (13-21) and Rui Hachimura 21.
